I know it's been a while, but things here have been pretty hectic with the move and Christmas and everything else that has been happening. I am feeling pretty guilty as I go to the mail everyday and pick up Christmas Cards from all of my friends. It has been really good to hear how you are doing. I am not even going to come close to getting off any type of card this year, but I am set on getting my cards out next year by Thanksgiving. I may even make it a resolution. It may get done that way.
I guess now that the house is done the blog will have to change venues. That's okay as I was getting bored reading my own blogs. I guess we will focus on family and cute pictures of my kids.
I do have to say this time of year I am so grateful for the wonderful family and friends I do have. Although I do not see my friends hardly ever (I do hope one day to get some kind of a social life again) I am glad to know there are a lot of people that I can count on if the need arises, and hope that others feel the same way about me. In my family I feel more and more blessed each day as I love my in-laws and my parents love my husband. I have heard so many horror stories of people not getting along with their husband's family, but I have no idea what they are talking about. We are very lucky that way.
Well it's getting late and the hubby is done wrapping my stocking stuffers. Merry Christmas everyone, and plan on getting a card sometime next year around Thanksgiving! :)

Getting Antsy
Well, now the Thanksgiving holiday is over all we are looking forward to at the Ensign Apartment is moving.....5 Days and counting. We won't post pictures because not much has changed. They put on our hardware, had to move one light, painted our front door and garage door. Everything is hooked up and working.
Little things that need to be fixed. They haven't poured our other cement pad outside, they need to put up our shutters and fix some of the stucco. They also need to do touch up on the inside, but that's about it. We close on Wednesday, and get the keys on Thursday. This week will be a busy one, getting the couches clean and packing up the apartment.
Thanksgiving was fun. We went up to my parents and enjoyed family and food. Chrisy is leaving on her mission after Christmas so it was good it was our year. (She is going to Washington Kennewick Mission.)
Hmm what else. I am debating about writing a family Christmas letter this year. I guess we'll see how much time I have after the move. I am really looking forward to the Christmas holiday this year. I think Petunia will have so much fun this year, and it will be the first year we stay at home instead of spending the night at my parents. New home, new tradition, and lots of fun. It's a good time to meet new neighbors as well.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week, and a great kick off to the holiday season.

More on the house
Our house feels almost finished, I guess it should, we have our final walk through in 7 days. They put in our plumbing, the faucets on our sinks
and our carpet. The day we got our carpet we all just laid down on the floor and sat staring at the ceiling thinking about being able to be in a house instead of an apartment. We will really appreciate the new house. We are very happy with the carpet. We tried to make it the color of dirt, with tiny flecks in it to cover any other mess the kids want to try and put in it. I know, I am turning into my mom more and more everyday.
Here is the outside of the house. We are only missing our shutters and railings and gutters. Things are moving. On the inside I think the only things missing are door knobs, closet doors, shelves in our closets, and touch up. Things look really good, and it's getting so exciting!!! We get the keys on the 29th and move on the 30th! Wish us luck!

Almost There!
Well, it seems like things are moving along quickly now. They have 18 days to get the home done for our final walk through. Today they had three different contractors out there. They were working on siding and grading......
flooring....
They have put in our bathroom counter tops as well.
Chunk enjoys playing with the cabinets, and Petunia's favorite thing is to hide in them.
It is actually beginning to look like a finished product. We still need our carpet and plumbing fixtures, but almost everything else is in.
They have almost all of our lighting up, and I am loving it more and more every time I go in. Tonight when we went in they had the furnace going full blast, with no thermostat. Needless to say, our heater works great!
On another note...Chunk slept through the night 3 times this week, which is almost more then he has done in his entire life before this week. We have felt very spoiled, probably now that it's the weekend he will wake up 3 times tonight, but at least we can sleep in.
That's about it for now. Hope you all are doing great!

More House News
Quite a bit has happened this week.
We noticed also that they are starting to wire all the electrical plugs. We expect them to be locking the doors any time now.

It's a good day today!
Today when I went to pick up Petunia from the bus they were delivering our cabinets!!!! Not only that, but they had also just begun to stucco the front of our house. I can't wait to go out there tonight and sort of tear open a small corner of one of the cabinets and see what color they are. It will be like a Christmas present. I know, I should remember what I picked out, but it was so long ago that I have no idea. Oh yeah, and I haven't blogged since they painted....I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. They say the house will be done on the 20th of November, and we get the keys on the 26th. A little later then I was hoping, but not too bad. They say they haven't missed a deadline yet. I hope ours isn't the first. I will post a picture tonight after we go out.
Another good thing is that a little boy four doors down the street from us in our new house is starting at Petunia's pre-school tomorrow. That will be so nice for her to have someone to get off the bus with and to maybe play with after school. I hope it works out good for her.
I had my scope yesterday. It really wasn't that bad. I had heard horror stories of people waking up during the middle of it and was terrified. When they gave me the stuff that was supposed to put me out I started talking and asking lots of questions. Even when I got all dizzy and loopy I kept talking. Finally the doctor looked at the nurse and asked how much she had given me, she turned around and said she would give me a little more, and that's the last thing I remember. Not even a twitch of pain. I was only a little dizzy after I got home, and slept it off. They didn't find much just some little sores at the bottom of my stomach. They took a biopsy to see if they were ulcers. Then they scheduled me for a stress test because a lot of my pain at night is in my chest. I get to do that tomorrow. I will be so glad to have all this behind me, and am glad I am getting it done before we move. I am sure a lot of it has to do with all the stress and pressure of building and living in this hell hole ummm apartment.
Well, I am about worded out. I will keep you all posted.

Things are moving....SLOWLY
Well, the house is still progressing, but it seems like it has come to a crawl. Barely today we got our doors and casings for the finish work (I've been waiting for 2 weeks for this)granted they also put in more then half of it today. If they work on it tomorrow they should have it done. They did pour our driveway and side walk, and they say it's important to get that stuff done before it snows. I guess I just need to learn to be patient.
My great hopes for this week would be that they finish the finish work, put on our siding, and it would be a small miracle if they painted. I want that done by at least the end of next week.
We talked to some of our neighbors today, they seemed really nice. I think so far the people in the neighborhood I've met are very normal, and that's a good thing to be in my book. It does not appear we will be kept up late at night with loud drunk parties and barking dogs.
Paige is acclimating to pre-school a little better and there are rarely tears when I drop her off now. The bus driver is letting her ride the bus on the way home, and she LOVES that. I have a hard time getting her off when they drop her off.
I have been having a lot of problems with acid reflux lately. It just came on so quickly about three months ago and just seems to get worse and worse. I am getting a scope on the 15th, and that almost scares me as much as the reflux does. I swear most of this is coming from living in a stupid little apartment. If moving into our home doesn't take care of it then I think I will have to be done having kids. I am not having another child if I have to suffer through reflux the whole nine months.
I am not sure how I feel about having more kids now. On difficult days with the kids I am pretty sure two is more than any normal person can handle, but when I look at our family picture it looks like we are missing one. I guess we will see what comes of the scope and if things look up in the spring, then we will decide. Doug turns 37 this month, and he surely isn't getting any younger. In fact he's pretty much an old man now. :)
